A series of custom laser-engraved leather bookmarks I designed playing with shape design constraints.

Process sketches

Using the rectangle as a containing shape, I played with the shade design in Procreate, before vectorising it in Illustrator. Once the design was cleaned up, it was ready for the laser-engraving machine

After an initial batch in wood, I decided to invest in leather. The design lent itself much better to the flexible material.
