Frequently Asked Questions

Are we a good fit?

Who do you prefer to work with?

I see every project as an opportunity to collaborate. While I respect any practical constraints, I do best when given some free reign. It is my aim to combine my illustration and design skill sets into one ooey-gooey magical concoction. So anyone who is looking for an adventurous, playful and bold brand will find themselves at home!

Project Deliverables & Scope

What kind of files will I receive at the end of a project?

You’ll receive everything you need to use your design or illustration confidently across print and digital platforms. For brand and design projects, which include vector files (AI, EPS), high-resolution PNGs and JPGs, PDFs and web-ready formats. Illustration commissions come with print-ready and web-optimised files. If you have specific needs, just let me know, I’ll make sure you’re covered.

Will I get a brand guide with my logo or identity package?

Yes, every brand identity project includes a brand guide that outlines logo usage, colours, typography, supporting visual elements and direction for use. Need a more in-depth guide for internal teams or future collaborators? I offer expanded brand books as an optional add-on.

Who owns the rights to the final work?

You will have full rights to use the final approved design work for your commercial or personal use, as outlined in our agreement. For branding and design projects, this includes commercial use. For illustrations, I retain copyright but grant you a licence that fits your needs. If you need full ownership or exclusive rights, we can discuss that as part of the project scope.

Do I get the source files (like layered PSDs or Illustrator files)?

Source files aren’t typically included, as most clients only need final, ready-to-use assets. That said, I’m happy to license editable files when needed, just mention it at the start of the project. This comes with an additional fee at a percentage of the total project cost to reflect the extended rights and access.

Can you make me a website?

Sorry, I do not offer web design as a service. I am focused on bringing design and illustration together to create one-of-a-kind, heartfelt brand experiences for bold and passionate humans.

Process & Timeline

What does your creative process look like?

Every project starts with a conversation. I want to understand your goals, audience, and vision before we begin. From there, we move through concept development, feedback rounds, and refinement before delivering your final files. The process may vary depending on whether we’re working on branding, a custom illustration, or print design. I’ll always keep you in the loop as we collaborate on bringing your vision to life.

How long does a typical project take?

Timelines vary depending on the scope, but here are some general guidelines:

  • Custom illustrations: 2–3 weeks
  • Logo or brand identity: 4–6 weeks
  • Print collateral (brochures, posters, packaging): 2–4 weeks

You’ll receive a clear timeline before we begin so you always know what to expect.

How many rounds of revisions are included?

Projects include two rounds of revisions after the initial concept(s). If you need more beyond that, I’m happy to accommodate additional rounds for an additional fee. I’ll check in with you before moving outside the original scope.

Can you take on rush projects?

I occasionally take on rush jobs if my schedule allows. Reach out early with your timeline, and I’ll let you know what’s possible. A 35% rush fee may apply for expedited work.

How do you handle feedback and communication?

Email is my main communication hub, but I’m happy to schedule video calls when needed. I respond within 1–2 business days throughout the project and make sure each step of the project feels clear and collaborative.

How many clients do you take on at a time?

Being a small one-person shop, I try to limit the number of new clients I take on to ensure I’m delivering a high-quality product and experience to all the lovelies I work with. I take on 1 – 2 clients per month.

Tell me more about the process.

So glad you asked! Be assured you’re in good hands (or claws) when we work together. From the original proposal to launch day, I have a six-step formula that allows me to really get to know you and understand your unique goals to create something suited to your specific needs [spoiler alert: step 6 involves a conga line]. You can learn more about my six-step process over on my services page.

Pricing & Payment

How much do your services cost?

Each project is priced individually based on its scope and deliverables. After we chat about your needs, I’ll send over a custom proposal with a clear price breakdown.

Do you require a deposit?

I do, I ask for a 50% deposit to secure your spot in my schedule. The remaining balance is due when the final project is approved and ready to deliver.

Do you offer payment plans?

Absolutely! For larger projects, I can split your payments into instalments across key milestones. Just let me know what works best for you.

What payment methods do you accept?

Bank transfer and PayPal are both accepted. Invoices are provided for all projects.

I don’t need a new brand, but I have ongoing design needs. Can I hire you on retainer?

If it seems like a good fit, I would be happy to discuss an ongoing partnership. Shoot me a message.

Print Design Specifics

Do you offer printing services?

I don’t typically offer that as part of my services outright but have many years of past experience in project management and am happy to work with vendors and printers should that best suit your needs.

Do you provide print-ready files?

Yes, I deliver files set up with proper bleed, crop marks, and colour profiles, ready for professional printing.

Can you help me choose paper, materials or finishes?

Definitely. I’ll walk you through options like textured stock, metallic foil, or special folds and help you choose finishes that elevate your piece and fit your budget.

Can you recommend a printer?

Yes, I have a handful of reliable printers I work with (UK-based and online). If you’re working with a specific vendor, I’m also happy to liaise with them to ensure everything prints beautifully.

Illustration Commissions

What’s your process for custom illustrations?

I begin by reviewing your brief and/or reference material, then sketch concepts for your approval. Once we agree on the concept sketch, I move into the final rendering and colour.

Can you work from photos or descriptions?

Yes, clear reference photos are great, but if you don’t have any, a strong written description works too. I’ll ask clarifying questions as well to capture the right vibe.

What usage rights come with a commissioned illustration?

Licensing depends on the intended use. Personal-use licences are standard, and commercial licences can be added depending on where and how the artwork will appear. We’ll confirm everything early, so expectations are clear.

Communication & Expectations

How do we stay in touch during the project?

Most communication happens via email, with project updates and feedback rounds communicated clearly. I respond within 1–2 business days. For larger projects or check-ins, I’m happy to schedule a call as well.

What do you need from me to get started?

Once the project is booked, I’ll send a short onboarding doc to gather your brief, content, references, inspiration and any brand materials. The more info you can share early on, the smoother (and quicker) the process. Don’t fret if this feels overwhelming; we will go through all of this in our project kickoff call to make sure we’re on the same page.

What helps keep the project on schedule?

Timely feedback is key! I’ll always give you clear checkpoints and next steps, and if you ever need extra time, just let me know so we can adjust accordingly.

Policies & Legal

Do you use contracts?

Yes, each project includes a simple, friendly agreement outlining what we’ve agreed to: the scope, timeline, payment terms, and rights. It protects both of us and helps everything run smoothly.

What’s your cancellation policy?

If you need to cancel or pause a project, your initial deposit is non-refundable. This covers the time I’ve reserved and any early-stage work completed. Additional work may be invoiced depending on how far along we are.

Do you offer refunds?

Due to the custom nature of creative work, I don’t offer refunds after work has begun. That said, I always aim to find a fair and reasonable solution if challenges arise.

Still have questions?

Feel free to reach out directly via email or the contact page. I’m happy to clarify anything not covered here.
